May I ask are you one of Jehovah's Witnesses? Or have you ever been?
— KPWe are Disciples of Christ. We do not belong to the Watchtower Society because of inaccuracies in the scriptures taught by the Watchtower. We do appreciate that the Jehovah Witnesses teach the Kingdom of God and know the name of God, being Jehovah. They do not teach a trinity. Because of that and other basics of the Bible we are not against the Jehovah Witnesses. However, the Watchtower is a huge religious society turned into a business at the expense of Jehovah. It has all the problems a Babylonian church would have, including pedophiles. This by no means judges the individuals. We just do not want to belong to the society, but rather call ourselves Disciples, doing everything we can to preach and to learn ourselves using the scriptures to become better Christians, trying to please Jehovah and his Son.
There are many reasons why we do not commit ourselves to the Watchtower Society. I will give a couple scriptural examples. The Watchtower teaches that Christ came (or his presence began) in 1914. This contradicts most of what Revelation and Daniel teach. We are watching for Christ’s second coming. Once Christ comes (at the 6th seal) then it will begin a 3 ½ year time period for the trumpets and vials to sound and be poured out. It will also fulfill the fall of Babylon, something else that the Watchtower teaches has already fallen. When Babylon falls it will become very apparent to all as religions like Christendom, Muslim, and Buddhism will no longer flourish and be able to deceive the world.
I hope my answers did not come across as belligerent or judgmental. It was not my attempt. We at Bible Research take our studies heartily as I am sure many of the Jehovah Witnesses do as well. We think the leaders who call themselves the Watchtower have led the Society into some wrong teaching occurring over many years by trying to say Christ came in 1914. We have or have had some members who studied with the witnesses in the past. They left the Watchtower organization mainly because of not agreeing with the Watchtower that Christ came in 1914. Many of our other members have not belonged to the Watchtower but come from some kind of religious discontent in their past. We are very fortunate to have found the truth.
