Death and Resurrection
Page 2

Jesus Christ speaks of the dead as sleeping. When a person dies, their thoughts perish. They no longer have any memory, thoughts, or feelings, such as love, happiness, sorrow, or anger. Therefore, those who have died do not praise or curse God, because they are asleep until the resurrection. Jesus Christ will begin to resurrect his followers at his second coming. Everyone will be resurrected in the proper order, depending on when they lived, and everyone will stand before the judgment seat of Jesus Christ (2 Corinthians 5:10).

What happens after death:

Ecclesiastes 9:5-6, 10  The living know that they will die, but the dead know nothing. The dead do not feel love or hatred, nor do they have knowledge or wisdom.

Ecclesiastes 3:18-20  When a man or an animal dies, they return to the dust of the earth.

Resurrection will occur at an appointed time:

John 6:39-40, 44  At the last day, Jesus Christ will resurrect individuals that his Father has given to him. The resurrection has not happened yet. The dead who will be accounted righteous and resurrected are currently in their graves.

Acts 24:15  Eventually, everyone who has lived will be resurrected.

Daniel 12:2 says " And many of them that SLEEP in the dust of the earth shall AWAKE , some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt. " Now the million dollar question! Why would the dead need to be awakened if they were already burning in hell or relaxing in heaven? ...if you believe the bible is the word of God, then how can you not believe so many witnesses in the Holy Bible that prove after death you are simply in the grave until the resurrection?...

Great points. How about it "After Death" and "Prayer Warrior"?

There are many scriptures that can disprove being in heaven or hell after death. The bible makes the answer very clear! Don't be lead astray by false doctrines! Jesus spoke truth! People go to church every Sunday and simply believe what they are told by their pastor, without checking out what God has to say about it, and claim that they believe the bible is Gods word. Individuals need to make a decision- if you believe the bible is the word of God, then how can you not believe so many witnesses in the Holy Bible that prove after death you are simply in the grave until the resurrection? Daniel 12:2 is just one of the many witnesses who testify on the matter. Also read John 5: 28-29 and John 8: 43-47. Jesus spoke the truth in love and offended many. Love, S.W.O.R.D.

Please let's get things clear. I hope u all know Hell is real! U die a sinner u go there. In hell are pits of tomment where souls R caged/locked. In pits are crawling worms that keep eating the marrows of lost souls in bones, yet these worms R not consumed by flames. At every movement the soul feels pain!

To Answer the Four Statements :

"...The worm dies not..." is referring to the individual who is dead forever. This relates to the lake of fire, which is the second death (Revelation 20:14, 15). There is no returning from the second death. Hell in this scripture comes from the Greek word Gehenna; meaning a place of burning. Fire signifies destruction.

The ultimate judgment of whether one lives or dies forever is determined by Almighty God Jehovah. "Fear God and keep His commandments..." (Ecclesiastes 12:13, 14).

These are people like the Apostles that have been resurrected into heaven at Christ's coming (1 Thessalonians 4:16), they are told to rest for a little season until the remnant of the 144,000 are killed by the beast, then they will be resurrected (Revelation 11:2,3).

They have been resurrected into a spiritual body (John 3:5-8). They have been born again. The white robes are spirit bodies 1 John 3:1, 2).

why did jesus talk of a place where their worm does not die
why did jesus warn to be fearfull of the one who has power to throw both body and soul into hell
why does revelation describe the souls of those who were martyred as being under the altar, crying out to god asking how long before he takes vengance
why give something that doesnt exist a white robe and tell them to wait?

 5. Only a Parable

I agree with Guest User on "Only a Parable". The scriptures do not contradict themselves. There has to be an answer to the story of the rich man and Lazarus and what the scriptures teach about hell, that it is simply a grave. The rich man - Lazarus story (Luke chapter 16:19-31) is a parable. A parable has a lesson to be learned. This parable teaches that we must listen to the one who arose from the grave (Jesus the Christ) or we might suffer consequences as the Jews who would not listen to Moses and the prophets.

 4. Order of Resurrection

- At Jesus Christ's 2nd coming, there is a resurection of saints(1 Thessalonians 4:6, Revelation 6:9-11).

- After 1260 days, or 3 1/2 years, the remnant of saints on earth are killed and resurrected to be with the other saints in heaven (Revelation 6:11, Revelation 11:3-12).

- At the Seventh trumpet, a resurrection also occurs, "Reward to God's servants"(Revelation 11:18, Daniel 12:12,13, Psalm 37:34, Isaiah 26:19-21).

- After the thousand years are finished there is also a resurrection. (Revelation 20:7-15, Ezekiel 38:1-23)

Please read the Bible verses referenced for excellent study and research.

 3. Two DIFFERENT Resurrections
Guest User, Unregistered
The problem with this article is that it teaches that sinners and saints get resurrected about the same time. They don't. Read the end of Revelations 19 and the beginning of Rev 20 carefully. The saints are resurrected for their judgement at the END of the tribulation, then the saints rule with Jesus for 1,000 years, at the end of which Satan is loosed for the final time, and earth's inhabitants who have never known sin will turn, many of them, to sin. They will all die, then all of the sinners will be resurrected for the Great White Throne Judgement, at which time those sinners (and hypocrites) are cast into the Lake of Fire with Satan and his demons.
